OUR APPROACH

Teaching and Learning

We create an environment where students learn hence confidentiality, trust, shared decision making and a culture of collaboration is promoted using an immersive learning style. Harnessing teachers’ collective knowledge and experience, we aim to improve student learning in the present and in the long term. We have a Continuous Professional Development Programme for teaching and non- teaching staff because we believe students should be on a journey towards co-constructing their own learning under highly skilled professional tutelage.

Career Progression

A career and higher education week to give students a heavy start in post-secondary school application process:
• Quality control of every student's post-secondary school application.
• Visits to Higher Education fairs
• Individual guidance from Careers staff on course choice and back up plans. Equipping students with skills that promotes self-reliance and entrepreneurship. Working with Local and International business to aid students with job skills and where applicable facilitate absorption in apprenticeship schemes

Tracking Progress

A career and higher education week to give students We have a specialized system called APMOR (Assess, Plan, Monitor and Review). Using our unique APMOR approach, every learner has an individual learning plan born out of initial assessment, learner style assessment, prospects plan and the curriculum. This is uploaded to a safe and secure database at the start, which is then followed by weekly quizzes, 6 weekly reports, mock tests and exams, all uploaded on the system. Using analytical tools with visual influence, we track the progress of every learner and a failsafe system is incorporated to identify any learner dipping below the success trend line. This will immediately trigger a review meeting with parents/guardians of the ward to design an action plan and set a further review date. This proactive approach ensures that no learner is left behind as compared with the reactive termly approach adopted by many. Our pastoral team will also be notified so that their services can complement the academic approach as we know that learning does not only happen within the four walls of the classroom.
